District Administration Fails to Implement SOPs in Cattle Markets.

Mirpur: The District Administration’s incompetence resulting in the failure to implement coronavirus-related standard operating procedures (SOPs) in cattle markets has increased the risk of spreading Covid-19 on the occasion of Eidul Azha, Daily Country has observed.


The District Administration formulated detailed SOPs for cattle markets and used the Government resources to show the performance but on ground no SOPs were being implemented in the cattle markets and interestingly, cattle sellers were also rarely seen wearing masks and gloves in cattle markets.

The incompetence of District Administration can be observed by looking at the condition of cattle market established in Islamgarh area of Mirpur. The performance of area Magistrate (Islamgarh) remained unsatisfactory during the pandemic and same was observed today.


The seller as well as buyers in were observed violating SOPs, no one bothered about social distancing or wearing face mask. It was also observed that Area Magistrate Imran Yousaf visited the cattle market numerous times and he was also observed to banish social distancing and remained surrounded by people without face masks.

The locals have shown their reservations on performance of District Administration as it can lead to spread of novel corona virus in Azad Kashmir.
